Port Melbourne Deck & Garden Room

This Port Melbourne deck had entertained a decade of summers, but the timber was grey, splintered and lifting in places. The fence had lost most of its original stain.

We stripped the old coating, sanded the full deck to a consistent grain, replaced twelve damaged boards and reinforced loose fixings. A penetrating natural oil was chosen to keep the timber’s warmth while improving slip resistance.

Ready to entertain again

The surrounding fence was cleaned and finished in a charcoal stain, framing the garden and tying the outdoor room together. The owners now have a space that feels new without losing its lived-in character.
